Delighted that my brand new cornet solo "Kiwi Holiday", written for the legendary principal cornet of the Wingates Band, Andy MacDonald, received it's first official premiere on Sunday 27th September 2026 at a UK Entertainment Contest. In fact it got 2 premieres as Andy & Wingates played their "Kiwi Holiday" program twice - in 2 seprarate sections - in one of which they won best entertainment program and gained an overall 2nd place.
The program, masterminded by Matt Ryan the band's musical director, centered around Andy & Sue's recent to New Zealand and the brand new cornet solo "Kiwi Holiday", and even featured a brief 'video chat' between myself and Andy on stage inviting him over to NZ.
