Saudade, from the Portuguese culture, is a feeling of longing, melancholy, desire or nostalgia, describing a deep emotional state; a yearning for a happiness that is passed or unattainable.
I have produced versions for soloist with piano, full brass band and brass ensemble. The ensemble version was premiered (by me) at the 2021 NZ Brass Band National Invitational Slow Melody.
