Warm-up & Tuning Exercise - Brass Band

Written primarily with tuning & intonation in mind, this piece uses simple hymn-like passages in a very easy, basic way to highlight common tuning and intonation problems. It utilises octave, unison and chord progressions to help focus on listening and staying in tune, as well as highlighting how the intonation of a note may change as it's position in the chord changes. It also serves as a good warm-up exercise and to highlight dynamic contrasts, and how dynamics may also affect tuning and intonation.
